Football Beats Glendale in Overtime

Los Angeles Valley College Football beat Glendale 27-26 in overtime over the weekend!

Valley scored first with a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter from Daylen Ortiz.  The rest of the game was back and forth with Glendale and Valley trading the league throughout.

Toward the end of the fourth quarter, though, it looked like the Monarchs were headed for a loss when they found themselves down 20-13 with less than a minute to go.

To the excitement of the Valley crowd, the Monarchs scored the game tying touchdown with .50 seconds to go in the game.  Gavin Goulette connected with Jeremiah Green on a 17-yard touchdown pass.

In overtime Valley jumped out to take the lead on a 30-yard touchdown run from Goulette!.  But, it looked like more overtime was to come when Glendale countered with an overtime touchdown of their own.  The Monarchs defense knocked down the two point conversion attempt and won 27-26!

Monarchs Football returns to the field on Saturday, November 2 at Pierce at 6:00 p.m.
