Bio

Devon “Coach Rich” Richardson brings over 15 years of basketball coaching experience to the Los Angeles Valley College men’s basketball program.

Before joining LA Valley, Richardson served as the Head Coach at Blair High School (Pasadena, CA) from 2020–2025, where he led a complete program rebuild. Under his leadership, Blair captured the 2023 CIF Championship, and Richardson was honored as the 2023 CIF Coach of the Year.

Prior to his tenure at Blair, Richardson was an assistant coach at Santa Monica College from 2017–2020, helping guide the Corsairs to back-to-back Top 5 state rankings and deep postseason runs.

In addition to his high school and collegiate experience, Coach Rich has an extensive background in grassroots basketball. He has worked with multiple AAU programs across Southern California and previously served as the Director of the LA Prospects, developing hundreds of players who advanced to collegiate levels.

Richardson is known for his player development expertise, defensive principles, and commitment to academic and personal growth within his teams.
